Design as a formalized field is evolving faster than the meta-narrative
that should theoretically surround it. The lack of critical analysis that often
provides the checks-and-balances systems in other established creative fields allows for the unregulated formations of the
contemporary design culture we see today (think Silicon Valley-style Design Thinking™). Maybe now
more than ever, it is important for the designer to recognize themselves as
complicit in the work they create (or mold). In this project I attempt to document some of the problems that design as a field creates, magnifies, and reifies.
